Knitting for Dolphins

Hooray for activist knitters! The Navy wants to use bottle-nose dolphins from the warm waters of Southern California to guard submarines in Puget Sound, expecting them to live in “warming tanks” off duty. A marine biologist knitter has organized Knitting for Dolphins to protest. They have brought national awareness to this issue by knitting caps, scarves and sweaters to keep the dolphins warm, acknowledging how silly that picture is, but arguing that it’s equally ridiculous to make the warm-water dolphins live out of their environment for such a selfish purpose. Go knitters!
